fbc prayer requests
Thursday - July 29, 2010Prayer is important at FBC

Prayer Promise: Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

  • Pray for our mission team as they wrap up their ministry in Zambia and prepare to fly back to the States tomorrow. Pray especially for Pastor Pettit as he guides the team and for continued safety and good health for each team member.

  • Please pray for healing and strength for Donna Morgan as she recovers at home after falling and hitting her head.

  • Remember Teresa Swart in your prayers today as she undergoes surgery to have a tumor removed that has been growing near her lungs. Pray especially that this can be removed without deflating the lung, as recovery from that procedure will be longer and more painful. Pray for peace for Teresa and her family and a quick recovery.

  • Pray for Dora Ross's daughter, Angela Foster. Angela suffers from a rare heart disease and has been in the hospital several times in the past few weeks. She is experiencing a lot of pain and needs our prayers for comfort and peace during this difficult time. Pray that unsaved family members would be touched by her godly testimony and come to accept Christ as their Savior.

  • Be in prayer this week for our middle school and 9 th grade campers, counselors and staff at Camp Calvary in Newaygo, Michigan. Pray that campers will respond to God's Spirit at work in their hearts and that many spiritual decisions will be made. Pray for good weather and safety for everyone involved.

  • Be in prayer for Will Stevenson's brother, Joe. He has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma and his doctors in Pennsylvania do not believe there is any treatment for him at this point. He and his family are looking into seeing the doctors at Goshen Cancer Center or applying for a trial study. Please pray for peace and comfort for Joe and his family and wisdom for his doctors.

  • Please pray for one of our former pastors and his wife, Rick and Judie Simpson who live in Arizona. They are needing to move to a smaller home because of limitations Judie is experiencing with health difficulties. Pray that their house will sell quickly.

  • Please be in prayer today for our service personnel, Kevin Yeip (Air Force-various countries) and Darryl Sutton (Army-Iraq).  Pray for safety for each of them as they serve our country and for peace for their families during their time away.

  • Our missionaries of prayer interest this week are David & Joan serving the Lord with ABWE in the Middle East (click here to view their current prayer requests).

  • Our shut-ins to remember in prayer today are Nelson M. and Kathy N.
