missions and FBC
These are exciting days in the history of the Church. All over the world, God's Spirit is moving in an unprecedented manner to reach a people for Himself from every tribe, language and nation. From every corner of the globe, people are hearing the gospel and are being brought into the Kingdom of God. As the Holy Spirit is moving and working, individual Christians and local churches all over the world need to embrace their responsibility and awaken to the opportunity they have to be on mission with God. Here at First Baptist Church, we must join together to complete the mission He gave to the Church - to us. Never before have there been so many positive dynamics in place making it possible for the Church to realize the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Yet if we are going to take advantage of these incredible opportunities, it is going to take the whole church being mobilized to accomplish the whole mission. Our Missions ministry philosophy at First Baptist Church of Elkhart, Indiana rests on three pillars to be effective in these changing times:
Compassion ministry leading to sharing the Gospel Missions is a topic that we just don't know enough about. Usually we just pray "God bless the missionaries", yet don't realize who they are, what they are, what they do, and how we can best pray for them. These questions will help us learn more about missions. To discover the answers, simply click the question to learn more.
There are several ways a member of FBC can become involved with our missionary partnerships around the world. First you can be praying for the requests of the missionaries that are published every month. Secondly can choose to “adopt” a missionaries by sending them encouragement notes. Finally you can take part in a mission trip. Contact the church office to learn more. |
